Research an affiliate programme before you join.
Affiliate marketing connects useful recommendations with a merchant’s referral programme. Commission depends on the programme’s rules and qualifying customer actions; a link by itself does not create income.
Use the official programme terms
Find the merchant’s programme page and application requirements. Record supported countries, accepted channels, prohibited promotion methods and any audience requirements. Save the date you checked. An automated page observation is a starting point for review, not approval of your application.
Understand how commission becomes payable
Check the qualifying action, attribution period, exclusions, reversals, payout threshold, currency and payment methods. Treat missing terms as unknown. A headline commission is different from a confirmed payable balance, and neither proves money has reached your bank.
Help the reader make a decision
Explain who the product suits, where it falls short and how you evaluated it. Disclose your commercial relationship clearly near recommendations. Respect the programme’s brand rules and applicable advertising requirements. Do not invent reviews or claim personal experience you do not have.
Measure useful outcomes
Keep a record of published content, referral clicks and provider-reported conversions. Compare the same date ranges and distinguish pending from approved commissions. Review changes to official terms before updating recommendations. Never use automated spam or paid promotion without explicit approval.
