Make useful pages easier to find and share.

Search optimisation starts with a page that answers a real question. Technical metadata helps explain the page, while the visible content must deliver the answer.

Give every public page a clear purpose

Choose one primary reader need. Write a descriptive title, one main heading and a concise summary. Use related terms naturally where they explain the subject. Avoid repeating location names or creating near-identical pages for every country. Keep private account pages outside the search index.

Make discovery technically possible

Serve useful content in HTML, use stable canonical URLs and link related pages together. Include only intended public URLs in the sitemap. Check robots rules, indexing directives and actual HTTP status codes. A submitted sitemap does not prove that Google or Bing has indexed a page.

Check the shared link as well as the page

Provide an absolute image URL, an accurate title and a description for link previews. Test the public URL while signed out; a crawler cannot preview a page behind your login. Sharing services may cache old previews. Never put account details or private draft text into public metadata.

Improve from measured evidence

Use Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to review queries, countries and landing pages over comparable periods. Read competitor pages to identify unanswered questions, not text to copy. Draft improvements, check their facts and review them before publication. Rankings vary and cannot be guaranteed.
